Last week, I was blown away to see the entire Reedley Int’l School community dressed up for a Cosplay. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Seeing my colleagues and our students dressed up in their favorite fictional character was simply amazing. When I walked down the hallway, I felt like I was stepping in a different world– a world where fictional characters from anime, manga, video games, movies and books came to life!
Meet Storm Trooper.
And this very lovely girl.
Where are going young Spiderman?
Oh hello there princess!
And another princess!
Ahem, Maria was in the house!
And so with the Darth Vader and other Star Wars cast!
Characters from video games were there too!
Now meet the anime kid!
Have Your Kids Try Cosplay Too!
What is Cosplay?
Cosplay is a popular trend where people dress up mimicking fictional characters. It is a type of performance art in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea.
How do you do Cosplay?
First, tell your your kids to decide which fictional character to represent. Next, help them make their own costume or buy ready-made cosplay costumes in stores (you can find cosplay costumes in Toy Kindom and Toys R Us). Then, tell them to practice the poses and moves of their chosen character and viola! They are ready for a costume play!
