My family, together with some friends since high school (Alex’s batchmates), had an overnight staycation at Linden Suites over the weekend. The overnight idea was quickly planned: the conversation on spending the night together was thought of over a sumptuous pizza treat of a friend who celebrated his birthday on that same week. When the rest agreed that, yeah, a staycation would be a great idea, this hotel was booked.
So the day after Valentine’s, February 15 that was, we found ourselves crowding in a 3-bedroom unit at Linden. We had a great time.
Alex requested that we leave the boy at home but I disagreed because he had cough and cold then. I couldn’t afford to leave my sick boy. I’m happy that he did join us because he had fun!
Since we arrived earlier than the rest, we took some family pictures. Below is a photo of my husband and our kid in their signature pose. This pose irks and amuses me at the same time. The thumbs up is just so automatic whenever I ask them to pose together. I would sometimes request, “iba naman”, and they would just shrug their shoulders and still pose this way. They’re cute though. Annoyingly cute.haha
This is me and Kyle. I just love this picture!
The room in Linden is nothing fancy, but it’s comfortable and clean- and I am sold to those. Two rooms have 1 queen, and 1 family-sized bed, while the other one has 2 single-sized beds. It has a small kitchen, and a receiving area for guests, too. It would be fair to say that the hotel is pleasant but sadly, it was under renovation at that time and so facilities like the swimming pool was out of service.
My high school friends and I were also booked in this similar 3BR room at Linden two years ago for our Christmas celebration. I’m missing my classmates… good thing one of them was there, Llew.
Llew’s son, KIDLAT, was there, too! How I love this kid and his name, very Pinoy!. Pero mali si Kyle ng translation ha, he calls him baby Thunder.lol!
We went to Aling Tonya’s in Pasig and had a feast of seafood for dinner. Too bad, my phone was dead so I didn’t take pictures of the scrumptious spread on the table!
The rest of the night was spent in the hotel, of course. It was spent sharing stories that happened in high school, stories on how rowdy and naughty the boys were… stories I’ve been hearing from my husband over and over, but were always laughed at. It was a wonderful, wonderful night.
Mauulit yan. =)
