Me and my child photographed by my husband. Savoring the days that Kyle loves to hold hands with me in leisure walks, like this one.
My family just arrived from a trip to my hometown and Alex’s as well. The boy had been bugging us to take him to his grandparents hence we grabbed the opportunity of the other day’s holiday plus his study holidays (after his quarter exam) to finally visit them in the province. As expected, our four days of break in Isabela were beautifully and restfully spent.
Since my parents’ country home is just a 15-minute drive away from Alex’s, the days were equally spent in both of our homes. Lucky that we were both born in Isabela which boasts of historical landmarks and delicious cuisines. Going home, as always, is a combination of rest and leisure. We visited 3 beautiful churches in this short visit of ours (Cabagan, Tumauini and San Pablo church), plus we again savored our stay in Cabagan by residing in my parents’ home and eating my hometown’s famous pancit: Pancit Cabagan. We also finally had the blessing of our new car in Cabagan church where Alex and I got married. My husband especially requested for this.
The rest of the days were spent fishing, flying Kyle’s airplanes, restfully lying in a hammock, and best of all, catching-up with our loved ones. Kyle’s grandparents were so delighted to see their apo. How I wish we could visit them more often.
Happy that we’re all happy embracing the simplicity of our family. Happy that we’re all enjoying little things like these. I pray that as our family grow old together, we remain to always see the beauty in small things so we will never run out for reasons to feel blessed.
Ending this post with a quote I’ve read: It isn’t the big pleasures that count the most; It is making a great deal out of the little ones. (author: unknown) What a great weekend it was, indeed! =)
