An Afternoon at Gymboree and Fully Booked

We just arrived at home from Eastwood and the boy is now taking a nap. He probably got tired from the Gymboree class he attended. This means that I have a few minutes to blog before I wake him up for dinner.

I took Kyle to Gymboree this afternoon. I’ve realized that his last free  class will expire next month. I got this coupon as a gift from One Hyundai Club several months ago. Since we arrived an hour early for the Learning Lab 2 class, I took him to our usual hangout- Fully Booked.

My 3 1/5-year-old boy can now read 3-letter words
and simple sentences. I am one proud mom!

OTTD: I was channeling Plains and Prints top and long skirt from Eastwood bazaar
and the boy was wearing Chicco polo, Big and Small pants and Dr. Kong boots.

The boy has never loved books this much and I am really happy!  He would always ask me to read aloud for him, especially before sleeping at night. Pero kung minsan humihingi din ako ng tawad kapag pagod. I would say, “Anak can we read three books only tonight? Babawi na lang si mom bukas!” At kapag sinabi ko na babawi ako, babawi talaga! Minsan parang may storytelling competition sa bahay, ganung level ang performance ng mommy! =)

We went straight to Gymboree right after our bookstore visit. I was particularly impressed on how teacher Joan handled the class. She was very warm, hands on, and articulate. She really delighted the kids!

As usual, the class started with a song. And then the kids were asked to introduce themselves and to tell the colors of their clothes. And then they were “surprised” by the teacher Joan with the triangle shapes she was hiding in her bag. After learning the shape, the kids listened to teacher’s short story about dinosaurs.

The kids had their art work, too! Each of them created a paper fish using paper triangles and then they were asked to draw and write their names by connecting the dots. They also played and learned using playdoughs!  Did the kids enjoy? A loud YES! They learned several things through play in just an hour- the reason why we always love Gymboree classes! =)

We had a great afternoon.  Thank you Gymboree Eastwood and Fully Booked!
