Last week, I joined a summit for women organized by ARIEL. The summit gave recognition to 100 fearless women in the Philippines, myself included. What an honor to be listed on the roster of Ariel’s 100 Fearless Filipinas!
The gathering entitled, “Wash Your Fears Summit”, paid tribute to all Filipino women who are fearless in pursuing their dreams, passions and aspirations. I was recognized for being a “Fearless Mother”.
The celebrity influencers and keynote speakers who were also awarded that day include fearless advocate for peace and development Amina Rasul, fearless advocate for health and environment Anna Kapunan, fearless beauty queen and advocate for children’s education Marilou Chua, fearless journalist Samira Gutoc-Tomawis, fearless entrepreneur Mandy dela Rama, and fearless lifestyle columnist Mons Romulo and fearless mother and celebrity Kris Aquino.
These women passionately shared their stories on how they overcame their fears and how they successfully pursued their dreams and aspirations. I especially loved the wisdom of Beauty queen Miriam Quiambao, recognized as fearless beauty queen at the event, in withstanding her own share of trials.
“I had my own share of dark moments which lasted for years,” she said. “My healing journey was filled with feelings of gratitude, positive thoughts and lots of prayers. I believe Filipinas are strong, because we love to pray.”
The theme of the event was recognizing fears and bravely facing them through a symbolic ‘washing away of fears’ by the 100 Fearless Filipinas. At the start of the summit, everyone was encouraged to write their fears onto the shirts given using any of the 100 stain-causing agents displayed at the area which include common causes of stains such as chocolate syrup, ink, oyster sauce etc.
After writing fears, stained shirts were dropped in a large bin which was later on transferred to Samsung washing machines with Ariel detergent to clean them.
“Empowering Filipinas is at the core of what Ariel stands for, and we continue to find ways to drive conversations that can inspire more Filipinas to succeed in life. Ariel recognizes that Filipinas are now fearless in seeking new opportunities to propel them forward in life.” Said Louie Morante, Regional Communications Manager for Fabric & Home Care, Procter & Gamble Southeast Asia. “This summit for women celebrates 100 fearless Filipinas who have demonstrated that fears are just stains that we have to be brave enough to remove…” She added.
Towards the end of the event, the shirts written on with ‘stains of fears’ were hung with no marks! The hundred stain-causing were no match for Ariel’s superior stain removal, all because of Ariel’s optimized formulation which contains a higher level of active ingredients to remove stains in one wash.
