Be a Stylish Mom in Five Easy Ways!

Are you falling into that fashion slump, mommy? Let this article save you!
We all know that a woman’s life changes drastically the moment she gives birth. Her priorities differ, and so does her fashion sense. Most women unknowingly fall into that fashion slump when they start to become mommies which could last for a decade or worst- even for a life time. I have seen a lot who seem to have forgotten their fashion style and then later on asked, “What happened to the once-fashionable me?”

So you think the words mom and fashion don’t go together? Think again. Take a look at these 5 easy tips to stay pretty and stylish!

1.     Avoid being trapped by black.

You’re probably feeling heavy and so your outfits are mostly black thinking that you will be weighed down by the color. But whhhhhy? Always wearing black makes you look dull  and tired! You are supposed to be dressed up in bright-colored clothes of various cut and texture to make you look fresh and cheerful! Free yourself from always wearing black, buy clothes with print and color!

2.    Get a fashion magazine.

If you’re like me who only went to maternity and baby stores during pregnancy, move on! It’s time to buy a fashion magazine to get updated with the fashion trends. When I was pregnant, I’ve never attempted to go to the malls alone.  I was always with my husband (which meant quick shopping). And so when I first visited my favourite stores upon giving birth, I disliked what they were selling as I thought they were so baduy. It was only when I bought magazines that I have freshened up my fashion sense. Little did I know that the clothes I thought to be so outdated were the trendiest items then!

We can be as trendy as Camile Co too!

3.     Set your fashion icon/s.

Although most fashion magazines would recommend that you create our own style, it would be easier and safer for you to try  the fashion style of somebody you admire. Note: Be cautious in choosing your icon- consider  your body frame and your ability to carry what she is wearing. Yes,  you may still walk out from your house in Camile Co’s style! How I love this young lady!

4.    Get a great hairstyle.

Guilty in growing your hair long so that you can just immediately pull it back whenever you go out? I am! When I go to my workplace, I would just dry my hair, comb it neatly and then pull it back. Maintaining a good hairstyle is not at all like that. To keep your crowing glory shining, give at least 10 minutes of your time styling it. You may also may different haircuts so you will not get bored, or perm it to achieve that sexy-hair look!
5.   Accessorize.

Do you get overwhelmed when you accessorize? You don’t have to. Think of putting on accessories as adding a punctuation mark at then end of every sentence. You  add accessories after wearing on your clothes! It doesn’t take time to add that finishing touch which will make you feel really good! The best places to buy accessories in the Metro (aside from divisoria of course that is you have enough energy and time to brave the crowd) is the Accessorize shop (located in Galeria, Megamall and Greenbelt). Their pieces look so classy and trendy and they are usually on sale up to 70% off too!

Cliche as it may sound, you must remember that when you look good, you feel good and when you feel good you can become the best mom that you can be!
