Just last week, my family traveled to Boracay to celebrate Kyle’s 7th birthday. What a splendor that was! It was a gift of time that my little band was wonderfully blessed with.
We spent gloriously relaxing days in Boracay. Suffice to say that it was one of our best family vacations ever!
That holiday was a rare opportunity. Having my busy parents spend a vacation with us was atypical. Spending such long and quality time with my husband (without him thinking about his work) was a beautiful chance. Seeing my two little boys making sweet memories by the beach, swimming and playing together and building sand castles and railroads was enough to make my heart explode in delight.
Simply put, we had the most wonderful time there.
Let me share a glimpse of our time together:

I like how candid this photo is. It perfectly captures our family vacation: Our little ones enjoying each other’s company, while my husband and I savor our time.

This is our little Trey. It was his first time in the island and this was his first ever dip! Look at that joy!

My dear dad teaching his grandson how to paddle. Papa is such an awesome lolo!

My mom in beach party mood! It was so refreshing to see her dance in delight! I love my Mama so much!

My birthday boy Kyle! While he was building a sand castle, my imagination went wild as to the things he can build in the future. I have mountains of dreams for this boy!
And then there was this unforgettable conversation at the island that I will never forget. That time when me and my son Kyle were swimming by the sunset, gliding around the glassy-smooth waters of Boracay with all the beautiful colors of the sky, I couldn’t help but think that maybe, maybe that’s how paradise is like. I was so blown away that I had to express it to my kid. I said, “Son, this looks like paradise!” I was surprised by the response of my seven-year-old. “Ahh… mom, this is not like paradise.” Then he continued. “This is already a paradise! It’s so fun here!”
“This is a paradise.” I repeated The world when you have a full heart is a paradise! Then I realized that it’s so easy for my child to see and savor the beauty of the world. I should see the world in the eyes of Kyle.
The next morning, we went to the beach to swim again. And, with a view like this, I felt that I was already in paradise.
Finally, the rest of the days were blissfully spent. We went island hopping and fancy dining. We even tried sports activities! I didn’t take a lot of photos on that vacation because it’s difficult to capture and enjoy at the same time while looking after the little ones. We simply soaked ourselves in that golden time and let ourselves indulge in the moment.
We’ve been to Boracay as a family for a few times already and we keep coming back because we just love the place. We like to go there towards the last week of October because the island is in the Amihan weather. By that time of the month, waters in Boracay is glassy-smooth. So calm, so soothing, so beautiful! No wonder, Boracay was awarded as the best island in the world in 2012 by the international travel magazine, Travel + Leisure!
Oh, what a joy that was. I pray for more moments like this with my family again. I love you Lord, you are so awesome for making all things possible!
