I love taking my family to Boracay. It’s always a gloriously relaxing family destination. for us. But our recent travel was quite challenging. Having a delayed night flight to Kalibo while still having to travel to Caticlan for about two hours and still crossing the waters thereafter with two little kids in tow, I got so worried! Thanks to AirAsia’s Kalibo to Boracay island transfer service. Going to the island is now easier!
I booked a later flight with AirAsia so our son won’t miss his school. I chose the 5:00 PM flight which should be enough to take us to the island without the hassle, just like our trip a few months ago. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed! It was already 7:30 PM and we were not boarding yet! “Will we make it to the jetty port before the last trip?” I asked my husband. “I think yes.” He said. “I have read in blogs that they travel late these days.” He added.
I was estimating the time. From Kalibo Caticlan Jetty Port, it will take us about 2 hours to travel by bus. Then we will still have to queue to pay for the “Environmental Fee” and “Terminal Fee”. It will be too late! I was thinking of already booking a hotel in Kalibo when my husband said, “Maybe we should try the island transfer service of AirAsia from Kalibo to Caticlan.”
Thankfully, NAIA now has a amazingly fast internet. I immediately Googled how the tranfer runs and was convinced to give it a try. Tickets are only available on board. I purchased 5 tickets (our toddler is free!) at P520.00 immediately after boarding. The momma in me computed. The price is not significantly different if we chose not to get the packaged service. The bus fee is at P200.00, the Environmental Fee and Terminal Fee is at P175.00. And after arriving in the isalnd, we will still have to rent a ride going to our hotel anyway. AirAsia’s Kalibo to Caticlan transfer service is very competitive that I would highly recommend to friends!
I was pretty impresssed with the service. I must say that our transfer from Kalibo to our very own hotel in Station 1 was seamless. The Island Transfer service started with a bus ride from airport to Caticlan port onto a speed boat to Boracay Island. Then, there was a van that took us to our hotel! Even the crew was so helpful in carrying our luggage!
We arrived in our hotel room at about 12 midnight, and woke up the the beautiful beach of Boracay the next day. Then, the rest of the week was blissfully spent with my entire family. You can also read about our awesome experience HERE!
Because I was so impressed with AirAsia’s Land Transfer service (AirAsia is working in conjunction with the Southwest Tours Boracay for this service, by the way!), I again wanted to avail it in going back to Kalibo. The price was high in out hotel. It was t about Php 750.00. But since the Southwest Tours Boracay was just a walk away from our hotel (it’s very near D’Mall), we purchased our tickets at their office. The amount was no longer as affordable as the AirAsia travel package which was at Php 520.00, it was already at Php 650.00 per person! Well at least now I know… I will surely book a to and fro Kalibo to Boracay Island Tranfer Tickets from AirAsia next time!
