STORY 1: Every after school, I ask my preschooler Kyle to share what happened in his class. This was his story yesterday.
Me: How’s school today, anak?
Kyle: It was Okay, mom. It’s just that teacher didn’t give me a star badge…
Me: That’s fine, for as long as you behaved, participated, and listened well in class. =) You’ll soon have one again!
Kyle: It was too difficult kasi…
Me: What was the question?
Kyle: No mom, the questions were easy. Raising hands all the time is difficult. Nakakangawit. (o_o)
STORY 2: On a school’s admissions interview last summer, Kyle was asked to read and draw. Teacher wrote M-U-G after several other words and…
Teacher: (Flashing the word to Kyle) Kyle, read this word…
Kyle: Mug!
Teacher: Do you know what a mug is?
Kyle: Yes, a mug! (And then shrugged his shoulder, showing confidence with the word).
Teacher: Can you please draw a mug for us?
(Kyle started to sketch a road, and then a big car with big wheels… I couldn’t understand myself why he drew that…)
Teacher: So where is the mug, Kyle? May you please tell us about your drawing?
Kyle: This is actually a sports car. It runs really, really fast. These are the MAGS of the car. (o_o)
Of course there was “processing” after each incident but I find my kid’s lines too cute! =)
