Our little boy taught us a lot about joy during the McDonalds’s Fun Run held at at McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig this morning. While we were running as a family, he paused several times to look at the small details that captivated him along the way: sign boards, leaves and flowers, colorful hats, dogs, newly painted ground.
Although my husband and I were set to race along with other families, we had to stop several times to allow our little boy to appreciate the little things that caught his attention. “We need not rush.” Alex said. “Let’s just enjoy.” And that meant a lot.

McHappy Day 2012 |
Kyle reminded us that we can find joy from the little things around us if we only find time to touch, pause and appreciate them.
Thanks Mcdonald’s for inviting us and for sponsoring our first family run.It was indeed a fun run. 🙂
How nice to see a family run together. I agree that not all run are meant to be races. You will sometimes stop and smell the flowers.
Im looking forward for my son to grow up and join me in my runs as well.
