Every Christmas, my little family and my brother’s family would travel far to Isabela for this: Happy parents waiting for us in our very own home. And as always, there’s something magical when we’re there together.
Aside from the warmth we feel from our parents and all the silly things we do together as a family, our home is just masarap uwian. It sits where one can enjoy the view of the majestic Sierra Madre mountains and the beautiful rice fields. It is also always bright and sparkling with decor and lights because my mom makes sure to lovingly dress the home for Christmas for her grandchildren to enjoy.
Last Christmas, however, my brother’s family moved to another country. We still enjoyed our holidays in our home by the countryside but we terribly missed my brother’s family. My son Kyle missed playing with his cousins while my parents and I missed our long catching-up with Kuya. This morning, I had a few minutes to browse though our past Christmas reunion photos on Facebook and I am sharing them with you on the blog.
Here are some of our family reunion photos over the years.
And our reunions were of course made even more special with great food. Our old-time favorite is Lady’s Choice Macaroni Salad and it has always been on the table. Creamy and delicious, it’s one dish that we always enjoy eating together.

I can’t wait for next year’s Christmas reunion. I hope my brother’s family will be in the Philippines by then so we will be complete again.
Happy New Year from our family to yours!
