So how does it feel to be seated in the same room with an amazing woman while she candidly talks about her life lessons? Oh, it was amazing. I felt deeply inspired to have spent the night with a woman who never settles for anything less than the best and continuously strives to be a better version of herself; a woman recognized as one of the most influential women in the Philippines, an acclaimed actress and host, and the very first female president of a giant media conglomerate in the country.
The woman being no other Ms. Charo Santos-Concio.
I felt really amazing that night of June 15, 2016 as Olay Philippines launched Charo Santos- Concio as their newest skincare ambassador for the Olay Regenerist Night Cream at Shangri-La at the Fort. I was excited, thrilled and grateful. And at that very moment, truly empowering words of wisdom straight from Charo were etched in my heart.
The event was a one-on-one was interview of Charo by Boy Abunda. The interview led all of us in the ballroom to know her more: She and her unwavering passion and hard work that led her to an exceptional rise from being a production assistant to the very first female President and CEO before she stepped down. She as Olay woman who continues to be in her best beautiful even after retirement.
What’s truly inspiring with Charo is that ‘she makes success seem so easy to achieve’, as what Boy puts it. She doesn’t look like she exerted too much effort to achieve where she is now because does not look stressed. Maybe it’s because of her outlook in life.
She emphasized in the conversation the value of working as a team and the importance of seeing each colleague as a human being more than just a co-worker in order to succeed. No wonder, she headed ABS-CBN with flying colors.
Her calmness and positivity truly inspire. “When you radiate glow and happiness in your eyes, you are able to positively influence everyone around you and it makes life beautiful. So beautiful.” I heard her say.
Not only is her optimism in life is beautiful. She is also beautiful. And she does not look her age, at all.
Charo found it as a delightful surprise to be chosen to endorse a beauty product in her ‘serene sixties’ as she puts it. She smilingly said, “I would never imagine that at my sixties, I would be endorsing a beauty product.”
Charo shares, ” I have used Olay for many years, but I learned recently that night is the ideal time for skin renewal and recovery. Since then, the powerful duo of Olay Regenerist Miracale Boost Pre-Essence and Micro-sculpting Cream has become my nightly ritual.”
At 60, she continues to defy expectations. Aside from the new endorsement, she also confirmed her comeback to acting. Charo continues to defy expectations and inspire Filipinas.
And before the night ended, she shared that she wanted to reach out to more women. When she was asked what she wanted to tell the Filipinas, she said,
“Live your dreams, follow your heart, do not be afraid, and do not start from the point of fear,” Then she added “Always love yourself.”
Thanks for inviting me and for the wonderful night, Olay Philippines!
