Ever since I started to work from home, I look forward to weekends. For me, weekend means stepping out from my regular home routine. Although I can go out any time on a weekday (because I am thankfully blessed to be able to carry my work with me anywhere I go unless pressed by a task or a deadline that I need to focus in my home-office), I have self-imposed that weekday is for work, and weekends is the time to refresh before the new week begins.
So every end of the week, we see to it that we go out as a family, and sometimes with friends to attend special occasions such as weddings or birthdays or just for a simple lunch out. But we go out to dine as a family most of the time. We usually do this quietly (the food that we eat and the places that we visit don’t usually reach my blog or my Instagram, even).
And just last night, when I organized my desktop files and cellphone photos, it came to me that maybe I should share some of our weekend joys on the blog. Well, some snippets of our weekends, at least.
Like one weekend, when we drove to Batangas to attend to attend the wedding of Mia and Jay. I didn’t blog about this gorgeous wedding yet. It was so dreamy. The setting and the mood was breathtaking, enough for my 6-year-old child to dream such wedding for me and his dad. He said, “I wish to see you and daddy getting married again in a place like this!” Awwww. (We so dream, too, to renew our vows fifteen more years from now in a place like this, son!) That day to remember was capped off with a party and fireworks by the beach!
The kid also had his time to swim and enjoy.
Then there was one day that my family joyfully traveled to Cebu City to attend the wedding of my dear friends Ruby and Jaja. Such a beautiful, heartwarming and happy wedding. I couldn’t describe my joy enough seeing my two high school friends finally getting married. After the blissful wedding ceremony in Pedro Calungsod church, we joined their fun-filled wedding celebration at Shangri-la, Mactan. The weekend was spent roaming around Cebu City with friends who flew from Manila, Isabela, Singapore and Kuwait to celebrate with the much-loved friends.
One weekend, we also went to a museum in Antipolo. I think two or three photos of this trip landed the blog already and I am sharing a few more…
Weekends. I can go on and on with snapshots of my weekends but I’ll have to stop here. Well of course there are some rough days but thankfully, we’re always able to move on and end them with grace.
Ah, thank you dear Lord for blessing me with wonderful friends and a loving family that make my weekends all the more meaningful and beautiful.
