I had an emergency laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery) last Saturday. It was something unexpected.
The pain in my upper abdomen and back was so excruciating last Friday morning and so my husband took me to The Medical City. I thought I would just be given some medicines for the pain and be sent home right after the check up, but I was wrong. After the ultrasound, I was channeled to a surgeon.
My husband immediately contacted Dr. Harold, our close friend and Kyle’s ninong, to seek medical advice. Harold is a doctor at FEU hospital. Since we knew we would be more comfortable if there would be someone to guide us throughout the procedure, we then decided that we transfer to FEU. Immediately, my operation was scheduled at 1pm the following day.
Everything happened so fast; all the pain and suffering is barely a blip in my memory today. The only things I remember oh so clearly now are the beautiful and heartwarming memories before and after the operation.

Before I was brought to the Operating Room, just when I was shivering in fright, my loved ones were all there to cheer me up. My mom and dad reassured me that everything was going to be fine. My husband, although very much worried, managed to give me a faint smile while the nurses were pushing the stretchers to the OR. My Kyle was there, smiling at me too, telling me that he will wait for me so we could play. Oh,what a sight!
After the operation, more love rushed in. I was visited by my colleagues, relatives and friends. I’ve been receiving a number of calls, prayers and messages, too! What did I do to deserve all their love and care? I am thankful and plain overwhelmed. =)
My little Kyle is the sweetest, too. Since he knows that Mommy has wounds in the tummy, he has been very gentle and never asks me to carry him. He would just sit as close as he could beside me, lay his head on my shoulders, and kiss me!
And because the boy had been seeing doctors day in and out, he enjoys emulating them in his role-plays now. He said, “I’m your little doctor, mom!” Alex took a photo of the kid playing and posted this on his Facebook:
I will recover fast since I have the cutest and smartest doctor. Won’t I?

I am now home, finally. There is still pain but I know I will be fine very soon. =)
Help me pray for my speedy recovery!
God bless you mommy Khaye!
