Is your kid studying the three states of matter in school? Are you searching for fun state of matter worksheet and activities? Here’s a simple experiment you can do at home and I have also included a worksheet to reinforce the topic.
The Fun Way of Exploring the States of Matter: The Jello Project
Materials:
gelatin powder
water
fun-shaped molders
1. Ask your kid to look closely at the gelatin powder. Explain to him that that is in solid form. Have him touch the powder.
2. Pour hot water onto the powder. When the powder mixes with hot water and becomes liquid, start explaining the properties of liquid.
3. Have your child observe the steam coming off from the hot water. Tell him that that is in “gas” state. Tell him the properties of gas.
4. Lastly, pour the mixture into your fun-shaped molders and then put them in your refrigerator. After a few hours, take your molders out of the fridge and start explaining the properties of solid.
